You never close your eyes any more
When I kiss your lips
And there's no tenderness like before
In your fingertips
You're trying hard not to show it baby
But baby I know it

“Dad . . . Daddy.” Joshua shouted.

At the sound of his son’s voice, he glanced up from the letter he was studying. Quickly he folded it into four and slipped it into his jacket pocket, right as the door flew open and his son leaped into his arms.

“How are you, son?” asked his son.

“How did you get on at the local park with your mum?” asked another question.

“I had a really good time, especially because Elisha and George were there, so that I could play on the swings with them.” Joshua started speaking.

“Elisha didn’t like to be pushed to high on the swings because she was scared that she might go over the frame, but George and myself didn’t care.” Joshua continued speaking.

“On the way home from the local park, mum was kind enough to let me ride my new Thomas The Tank Engine bike all of the way home, as long as I wore my helmet though.” Joshua finished speaking.

You've lost that loving feeling
Oh, that loving feeling
You've lost that loving feeling
Now it's gone, gone, gone

“I am really glad that you had a good time at the park today. Maybe I could come with you and your mum when you go there next?” spoke, hoping that he could spend some more time with his son.

“Would you be able to do that, dad? It is just that you never really come out with mum and me anymore.” Joshua started speaking, not knowing how much hurt and pain he was causing to feel.

“I am really sorry, son, but it is just that your mum and myself are very busy people, and we . . .” started to speak before he noticed his girlfriend coming through the front door.

“Are you alright?” asked .

“Yeah I am fine, thank you.” spoke.

“I guess he was asking you why you couldn’t come to the park today?” asked , seeing a hurt look upon ’s face.

“Yeah he was. He was kind of wanting to know why the both of us don’t take him out together anymore like what we used to do. Maybe we should try and . . .” started speaking before he was interrupted.

Now there's no welcome look
In your eyes when I reach for you
And girl you're starting to criticize little things I do
It makes me just feel like crying baby
'Cause baby, something beautiful is dying

“Joshua, would you please go to you room for me.” told her son.

As Joshua slowly climbed out of ’s arms and made his way to his own bedroom, knew what was going to say to him. The both of them had had this conversation before and nothing ever seemed to come of it except for arguments and fights.

“I am really sorry, , but I thought we had had this conversation before. I know that you want us to be a proper couple like what we were before but it just never seems to work out though.” started to speak.

“I thought we had decided that it would be better for Joshua if we were to live in the same house as one another but not to continue with the relationship.” continued speaking.

“It would be to painful for the both of us if we were to take Joshua out to different places with each other because Joshua would always be wanting us to be holding hands when we know that we wouldn’t be able to do that, would we?” finished speaking.

“I know that you want to stay together for the sake of Joshua, but can’t we try and give the relationship another go. It is just that I have really missed being with you, especially when it comes to the evenings and it is cold in bed.” spoke, as he tried to reach out to hold as she walked past him.

“I just don’t know what would be for the best anymore, . It is just that whatever we decide to do, we have to take Joshua’s feelings into consideration.” spoke, with a distant look in her eye.

You've lost that loving feeling
Oh that loving feeling
You've lost that loving feeling
Now it's gone, gone, gone

“Do you not think Joshua would be better off all round if he was to have two parents who were in love with one another rather than two parents who are always arguing and fighting with one another?” asked, not knowing what else he could say.

“I think it would be better for Joshua if we were to be civil to one another whilst we were living in the same house as one another.” answered, knowing that wasn’t what had wanted to hear.

“I know but it would be different this time though because I . . .” said, not knowing how to continue on with what he wanted to say.

“How is it going to be different this time? We have done everything we can and we still end up arguing and fighting with one another.” asked.

“I had a look on the internet a couple of weeks ago with regards to the both of us attending a course at a relationship counselling department and I sent away for an information pack.” started to explain,

“When the information pack arrived, I decided that I should book us both in for a course so that we could possibly give the relationship another go.” continued, hoping wouldn’t be too mad with him.

“You have already booked us both in for a course without even asking me?” asked, wanting to confirm everything.

Baby, baby I get down on my knees for you
If you would only love me like you used to do
We had a love
A love a love you don't find every day
So don't, don't, don't, don't let it slip away

“I am really sorry, sweetheart, but I know that if I had told you about the relationship course from the beginning then you wouldn’t have wanted to go.” spoke, keeping his eyes fixed on .

“I think you know me to well, .” said, showing a faint smile for the first time in the last couple of months.

“That’s the smile which I used to love waking up to every morning.” replied, showing a cheeky side to his personality.

“I don’t want to put too much pressure onto you, but I would really like it if the both of us could attend the meeting.” asked, not wanting to put to much pressure onto .

“I don’t want you to get your hopes up, , by me saying this, but I will agree to have a little think about it all. That doesn’t mean that I have agreed to actually go to the relationship counselling though.” spoke, trying to get to understand what she had agreed to.

“That is alright and I think I should give this to you.” spoke as he handed the letter from the relationship counselling department which he had been reading previously.

“Thank you sweetheart, because it really does mean a lot to me.” said, as he pulled forwards so that he could give her a cuddle.

“That is alright.” replied, knowing that she would probably regret her decision in a couple of days.

Baby, baby I beg you please, please
I need your love, I need your love
So bring all back, bring all back
Bring back that loving feeling
Oh, that loving feeling
Bring back that loving feeling
Cause it's gone, gone, gone
And I can't go on

THE END
