So, have you written a good story and want to have it published
here in Neverland? We hope so. All you have to do is follow
what we ask, it's not really hard. ;o)
But before we start with the rules, just one simple yet important
thing we wanted you all to know. We from Neverland are not picky, we won't select
the stories which 'deserve' to be on the site or not. Here's not a site for
professional writers, only a place to share the work on writing fan fictions.
Anyway, the main thing in Neverland is that everyone is welcomed to submit their
stories, share it with other readers. And we also believe that everyone has
its own tastes on fan fictions - and anything for that matter - so something
you might not like, others might love. Keep that in mind, and have a good time
in Neverland. Our aim is to plase.
We will only accept completed Westlife fan
fictions sent in Word format [compatible with Word 2003]
on the e-mail [neverland.fics@gmail.com].
It's better like that, as we know the story is finished and you won't feel
pressured to write more soon. And in Word document is easier for us to copy
into the program to script them, otherwise the story could be out of form
when we paste it. - Neverland is for Westlife fan fictions, but we have received
stories about ordinary characters that when scripting become Lifers; we think
it's alright to accept those stories, just as long as you tell us who to shift
for a lifer and so.
-Now you can have your stories published on Neverland as
original ones too. However, interactive fictions are still our priority; original
fictions are an extra on the site. You'll have to let us know if you want
your story to be published as an original one as well as interactive, or if
the story only fits as being original, and not interactive - we will asume
the story to be interactive if we are not told the other way around. All the
remaining information/rules goes the same; we need to know the main characters,
a teaser, etc.
Write the story in a clear English, like
paying attention while writing, paying attention on the grammar and spelling,
etc; and especially, reread your story before submiting it and correct what
is necessary. However, we will be revising the story before publishing it,
in order to correct any errors we find in it, so the readers will be able
to understand everything you wrote. We are by no means doubting your capacity
as a writer, we just want to make sure the story is understandable for everyone,
especially those who haven't English as their mother language. - And just
for the record, this is one of the prior things for Neverland. Although no
one here is a professional, we value the writing a lot - and we also believe
our visitors do as well. Even though, errors might still occur, passing unnoticed
for us; so if you notice anything like that, don't hesitate in letting us
know.
Give us information about your story, in
order to help us script [make them interactive]. Tell us who the
main characters are, as in the main Lifer with the main girl for him. Also,
if the other Lifers are paired with your friends and/or other girls. Thus,
when scripting, we don't have to guess who they are and change many times
the script. Tell us names; the girls you put on your fiction along with the
Lifer she's paired with. Give the information as you usually answer the questions
when you read a interactive fan fiction. [eg. main lifer: Shane, hazel eyes,
nickname: Shay, etc; main girl: Maria, blue eyes, brown hair, nickname: Ma,
etc].
Write a teaser for your fictions as well [Teaser
is the brief summary telling what the fiction is about]. We're not too good
at writing those, so don't blame us for writing a crap one if you hadn't written
one yourself, alright? =P And let us know if your story fits into the usual
interactive ones, or it might be 'Original Lifer' story [Where
the Lifer will be himself and only the girl interactive].
The information, send it in the likes of:
Eg. Kian Egan (main lifer, blue eyes, blond hair. mum: Patricia)
Mirelle Oncken (main girl, dark eyes, light brown hair)
Nicky Byrne (second fave lifer*, nickname: Nix, blue eyes,
blond hair)
Binha Ferreira (friend, nickname: Bi, brown hair, brown eyes)
Mark Feehily (Binha's fave lifer, blue eyes, dark hair)
Shane Filan (nickname: Shay, hazel eyes, brown hair)
Teaser: they lived happily ever after.
(optional) genre: D, V, R. rating: orange.
*the second fave lifer is the lifer who's more connected
to the main girl, being (also) her boyfriend, a close friend, or even a brother.
If he's just 'another' lifer in the fic, then he's 'another' lifer.
This information you don't necessarily have to tell us, but
it's appreciated if you do.
-Rating and Genre. [you can find the list on fics info].
If we do not know the information from you sending a story, then we ourselves
will analyze, after reading, in which genre(s) and rating it fits.
-If you want to, you can tell what line from your story you
would like us to use on the 'fiction quote' in the layout,
if not, we'll pick one ourselves. Just remember it has to be a quote by a
'Lifer and not mentioning any names rather than other 'Lifers'.
-The picture used on the fiction code, you can also provide
us if you want to. We only use Westlife pictures to do it, and remember it
has to fit in the pattern size of the fic-code, which is 175px x 75px. Also,
do not send us fan pictures for that, unless it's your own taken photo; we
use pictures found around the internet, being it from magazines, events, shows,
photoshoots, etc.
The stories will be published in the sections
they belong to, right after we finish our work scripting and revising. Fan
Fics with less than 10 pages [check fics info] are short, so they'll be published
wholly in the short stories section. Full stories, from now on, are those
with their length between 11 and 20 pages; they'll also be published in its
whole. The stories with more than 20 pages, if received in full, with no chapters
dividing them, we'll do it so. These stories are too big, and with chapters
they can be updated a few chapters at time. Previous fics with more than 20
pages, but no chapters, will be kept in the section they are, with no changes.
This rule will only apply to new stories submited to Neverland.
You may use the forum
to post your stories, slash and incomplete original. For the time being, we
do not accept Slash stories, the reason being they can't be made interactive;
and also not completes stories aren't allowed. However, Neverland is a place
for fiction lovers, and if you want to share your stories in a way you can't
on the site, feel welcomed to join the forum and do so.
